“Is Sascha too busy to play?” he teases.

I smile. Sy’s duty as bodyguard comes naturally. He always knows what everyone else in the house is doing. “I tried to get him to take a break. He didn’t approve.”

“He’s very committed to this project,” Sy says, giving me a look I can’t quite read. Just when I’m about to ask him if something is wrong, he speaks again. “I’m sure you and I could find a way to pass the time.”

“That’s possible.” An idiot response. I’m trying not to be thrown, but Sy and I have never really done much alone—we’ve both had great times with Sascha, and the three of us make an amazing team in and out of bed, but I’ve never given too much thought to starting anything with Sy on my own. “What were you thinking?”

Sy gets this uncomfortable look on his face, and I wonder if he was just being polite, just offering something he thought I would want. Sascha and I have come far enough in our relationship that I don’t worry about that much anymore, but Sy is more proper. He has many more years of experience as a slave to work out of his system.

“Whatever you want,” he answers, probably quite honestly. Then he dodges the question entirely. “We could watch a movie or something.”

“Or we could go into the bedroom and see what happens there.”

If he seemed offended, I would have backed off, but he gives me a challenging smile. “There are plenty of things to occupy ourselves with in there.”
