The ‘elf’ arrived about half an hour after they’d started drinking. Dempsey had excused himself, and about five minutes later, re-entered the board room with a lithe young thing wearing a fur coat, impossibly high heels, and a green elf hat.
Her make-up was too heavy, too flash, too elaborate, for her to be anything but a hired girl.
For Alex, the collective pause, then the individual reactions, were more interesting than the girl herself. Rob had sniggered and leered, and Vance had given Dempsey a slow clap, while Donny had giggled and blushed. Alex had sighed at that, tried not to roll his eyes. The kid was so damn innocent that Alex wondered if he’d made it to thirty-three and was still a virgin.
Dempsey took the elf’s coat, revealing a white fur-lined negligee, and a candy cane tucked into the side of the elf’s g-string. A large one, about a foot long, perhaps half an inch in diameter; its hook was big enough to be grasped easily in a palm. The elf giggled, pulled out the candy cane, and started to lick the underside of the hook. She turned a few times for them, offering a full view of herself.
Alex had to admit that she was hot. Hot in the way strippers and hookers and porn stars are hot: body moulded as if out of perfect smooth plastic, blemishes hidden or disguised, the curves of ass and breasts rounded like porcelain cups, supple legs and arms that could be bent whichever way you wanted. Her lips were heart-shaped, plump and red.
The elfishness was achieved with a green elf hat and attached pointy ears. But the hat wasn’t a cheap one you could pick up in a dollar store: the white fur trim was beautifully smooth, and the hat material a kind of forest-green velvet. The ears, too, were impressively done; Alex couldn’t see the line where the glue must have been applied. And somehow, Dempsey had found a girl whose eyes were slanted slightly back; she was perhaps Asian or, more likely, Scandinavian.
Dempsey had paid a lot for her, that was certain.
None of them made to touch her. It would be up to Dempsey to let them. Vance and Rob leaned forward, their antlers bobbing stupidly as they sniggered. Donny kept his hand at his mouth, eyes very wide. Alex stayed back in his chair, allowing full rein to a languid and lascivious smirk.
Whatever else happened tonight, he was definitely getting off.
But Dempsey made a gesture, and the elf moved back to his side, and leaned on the boardroom table. They smiled at each other, a kind of knowing smile for which Alex wished he had the code, before Dempsey returned to his seat, and asked Rob about his holiday plans. Everyone’s attention switched back to their boss, and conversation began again as before.
Only a matter of time, though, Alex thought, and had to stop himself from rubbing his thigh.
